F max test
The F max test is the ratio of the largest group variance to the smallest group variance. It is safe to assume that the variance is homogeneous if the calculated F value is smaller than the value in the table at n-1 degrees of freedom.
*Note: the main reason that we perform the F max test is to double-check our assumptions that the variances are homogeneous from the ANOVA.
**Note: Other tests for homogeneity of variance are the Brown-Forsythe test and Levene's test.
